Promoting Adult Education in Networks (PRALINE)

Praline is a Erasmus+, Key Action 3 project with the general objective to“Strengthen existing transnational networks of adult education providers by means of mutual learning, peer counselling, and capacity building.”

Background

There is a clear need for the establishment, development and strengthening of umbrella networks representing providers’ organisations in order to support regional, national and international collaboration with an aim of promoting Adult Learning and Vocational Education and Training. The first topic of this cooperation is based on the findings of the ET2020 Working Group on adult learning,  highlighting that few progress had been made to reach out to those target groups, that are  most in need of adult learning, e.g migrants, unemployed and other vulnerable groups, often lacking basic skills and therefore most at risk of being excluded.

Objectives

The project has the dual objective of expanding the reach of the existing network EUproVET, as a policy platform of VET and Adult Learning providers’ associations (founded in 2009) by including new partners from other countries and to work across 10 partner countries to share best practices around some of the pressing concerns and challenges of Adult Learning (Lifelong Learning), like responsibilities, sustainability and digital skills, basic skills for all, language learning for migrants, quality of teaching, guidance and learning in the workplace.

New members will use the wider EUproVET network to both strengthen support regionally or nationally and to promote and widen their international cooperation around ALE at practitioner and policy level.

Implementation

The main medium for strengthening of the transnational network and to demonstrate the added value of EUproVET will be through best practice sharing at peer learning activities (PLA’s). Due to the Covid pandemic the first meetings were held online, soon followed by 9 face to face meetings, all held in different countries.
